Yobe LG Poll: APC Wins All 17 Chairmanship, 178 Councillorship Seats

All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 17 local government chairmanship seats in last Saturday’s council poll.

The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YSIEC) chairman, Dr Mamman Muhammad, declared that the APC won all 17 local government chairmanship seats and 178 councillorship positions.

He said the commission had received, considered, validated, and adopted the results of each of the 178 councillorship elections in the wards.

He commended the electorate for ensuring that the polls were free, fair and peaceful.

He thanked security agencies for ensuring the smooth conduct of the elections and expressed happiness that no case of violence or ballot box snatching was recorded throughout the exercise.
