Mudasiru Foundation Launched To Empower Nigerians Through Education, Entrepreneurship, Arts

An independent, non-profit organisation has been launched in memory of the late philanthropist and investment banker, Dr. Olaolu Mudasiru, fondly known as Dr. Bob, to provide sustainable opportunities for Nigerians through initiatives that integrate education, entrepreneurship, and the arts.

The Dr. Mudasiru Foundation, which was officially launched on July 14, 2024, in Lagos through an art exhibition, aimed to uphold Dr. Mudasiru’s legacy by supporting educational initiatives, nurturing entrepreneurship, advancing cycling, promoting arts, wellness, and fostering societal growth. Guided by a visionary Board of Trustees (BoT), the Foundation will empower individuals and underserved communities to achieve their fullest potential in these crucial sectors through strategic partnerships, mentorship programs, and grassroots initiatives.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Ohis Ohiwerei, commented: “We are honoured to launch this Foundation in memory of Dr. Olaolu Mudasiru, a man whose life was dedicated to nurturing and improving lives. Our goal is to build on his legacy by providing the tools and resources necessary for Nigerians to excel in education, entrepreneurship, and the arts. We believe that through these efforts, we can create a ripple effect that will transform communities and drive sustainable development across the nation.”

Also speaking, the Secretary of the BoT, Damilola Ajayi, reiterated the Foundation’s commitment, stating: “Dr. Mudasiru’s vision for a thriving Nigeria, centered on empowering individuals and underserved communities, is the driving force behind our mission. We are confident that by supporting education, entrepreneurship, and the arts, we can unlock the immense potential within our communities and propel Nigeria towards a brighter future.”

The Board of Trustees of the Foundation comprises 11 family, experts and thought leaders across various industries in the country; including Ohis Ohiwerei, Zafirah Mudasiru, Olusola Mudasiru, Damilola Ajayi, Wale Agbeyangi, Dr. Ladi Bada, AVM Lawal Alao, Rtd., Yemi Fagbenro, Tokunboh George-Taylor, Yemisi Deji-Bejide, and Chuka Eseka.

Dr. Olaolu Mudasiru was an investment banker with extensive experience covering securities trading and asset management, amongst others. He was a member of the London Stock Exchange and a member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Nigeria, as well as a member of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. Co-founding Vetiva Capital Management, he served as Deputy Managing Director/COO until his passing. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Bob embraced life with passion, cherishing the arts, exploring the world, and pursuing his love for cycling with boundless energy and discipline.
