Contrary to the resolution of the stakeholders meeting convened by the Sokoto State government that protests against bad governance will not take place in the state, youths still throng out in large numbers to participate in the protest.

They trooped out in their large numbers, marching along major streets of Sokoto metropolis in a peaceful manner, singing solidarity songs.

Our correspondent gathered that, after marching through major streets within the metropolis, the protesters will later converge at the Government House, Sokoto, where they will present their demands to Governor Ahmed Aliyu, for onward delivery to President Bola Tinubu.

Meanwhile, banks and major business outfits are under lock and key to forestall unforeseen circumstances.

Ahmadu Bello Way and Kano road that are hubs to banks and Igbo traders are currently deserted. However, Policemen were stationed at major junctions within the metropolis to maintain peace and order.
