This was disclosed in a statement signed by the special adviser to the governor on Security, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), saying the curfew is now relaxed from 12.00 noon and 5.00p.m for people to undertake their lawful activities.

According to the statement, the security agencies are enjoined to maintain the current level of security alertness and ensure that no space is given to hoodlums and miscreants to perpetrate any act of lawlessness during the curfew relaxation period.

“Consequently, law abiding citizens are requested to carry out their lawful activities during the intervening period (12:00 noon to 5:00pm) while the period between 5pm to 12:00 noon remains restricted,” the statement added.

Following the relaxation of the curfew normalcy has returned to the affected towns, as commuters and residents now ply the road with little or no obstruction.
