The Taraba State Government has announced plans to dualise sections of the Bali-Serti-Gembu road after the completion of ongoing rehabilitation work by the federal government.
The governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, expressed his commitment to this expansion project during the official visit to Sadauna local government area of the state.
Kefas during the visit discussed various development projects being undertaken in the state, emphasising the importance of peace and unity for the successful implementation of the initiatives.
The governor lauded the chief of Mambilla for his leadership qualities in promoting unity among the people of Sadauna area.
He further highlighted the state’s tourism potential at the Mambila Plateau and his administration’s commitment to harnessing it for sustainable development.
During his visit to Mambila Beverage Limited located at Kakara within the local government area, Kefas said the government has finalised an arrangement to invite private investors to evaluate and collaborate with Mambilla Beverages Limited in Kakara for massive tea production in the state.
The beverages company is a tea producer in West Africa, producing products called “Highland Tea and Green Tea.” The governor stated that he will soon lead a team of Kenyans to bring in experts and investors to modernise the company to meet exportation standards.
He further expressed concern about erosion threatening the company’s plantation.
He pledged to provide new tractors for the company from the stock purchased by the state government, with the condition that the company would pay for the machines at a subsidised rate.
