The stakeholders are the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS), the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), and the Society for Family Health (SFH).

The director general (DG) and Chief Executive Officer of DSCHC, Dr Isaac Akpoveta, made the call while playing host to members of the Delta State Health Partners Forum who paid an advocacy visit to the commission in Asaba.

The DG commended the forum, which is a coalition of various health-focused organisations and stakeholders within Delta State, for their investment in the health of Deltans, noting that the Delta State Government led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has remained clear on achieving health for all Deltans.

He told them that the state government had approved the testing of hepatitis infection for pregnant women in the state, adding that the commission would soon clear all backlog of payments as soon as funds were made available.

While urging the forum to key into the various initiatives of the commission, Akpoveta reiterated the readiness of the commission to partner with individuals and groups that would support in providing more robust and effective healthcare.

The state coordinator World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr David Kajovo, the state program manager of Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme ECEWS, Mr Henry Udenenwu, representative of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), Dumebi Nkenchor- Achuzia and Mrs Momah Mercy of the Society for Family Health, said the visit was to intimate the DG of the activities of the forum and to explore potential areas of collaboration.

They commended Akpoveta for his passion in driving the health insurance scheme, adding that the forum was dedicated to improving health outcomes through strategic partnership, advocacy and community engagement.
