The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has paraded 12 suspected vandals and other criminals involved in theft and burglary in Adamawa State.

The suspects who were arrested at various locations were paraded yesterday by the new state commandant, Idris Bande, in Yola.

Bande said the state would no longer be safe for criminals to operate in and advised them to turn a new leaf.

“It is no longer business as usual for vandals and scavengers in the state,” he said, urging those engaging in such activities to either repent or relocate.

“We are fully committed to protecting the public and state’s assets and ensuring that criminal elements are brought to justice,” Commandant Bande said.

He called on all well-meaning citizens of the state to take ownership of critical national assets and infrastructure within their communities.

The commandant equally urged people of the state to report suspicious activities or attempts to destroy such assets to the nearest NSCDC office in their jurisdiction.
