Huawei, the global technology leader, will be introducing its latest innovation, the HUAWEI Mate XT, in Nigeria.

This cutting-edge, tri-fold smartphone has been garnering attention worldwide for its revolutionary design and advanced features. Since its launch in September, the Mate XT has earned the prestigious title of “Best Smartphone” globally, setting new standards in the mobile industry.
With over eight million pre-orders ahead of its release, the Mate XT has become a highly sought-after device, despite its high-end price point. Priced at $2,800 for the base model, limited availability and skyrocketing demand have driven resale prices on the Chinese black market to an astonishing $20,000. Although global shipments are still rolling out, Nigeria has received three units of this cutting-edge device, even as the company has disclosed plans to commence sales in the country.
For a start, Huawei officials presented one of these exclusive samples to the chairman of Zinox Group and Konga Group Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh. During the presentation, Huawei representatives acknowledged Mr. Ekeh’s contributions to the tech industry in Nigeria and Africa at large, praising his pivotal role in driving the continent’s digital transformation.

Expressing his appreciation, Ekeh thanked Huawei for the opportunity to be among the first to use the revolutionary device. He shared his excitement at experiencing the advanced features of the Mate XT, describing it as “a symbol of a new era of technology and lifestyle.” He added that this innovation inspires him to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the tech industry. “Thank you, Huawei, for this remarkable gift and your unwavering contributions to the tech space. Our partnership remains strong.”

The HUAWEI Mate XT features an impressive inverse dual-hinge design, enabling it to fold into a unique “Z” shape, transforming from a traditional smartphone into a 10.2-inch foldable display. Its OLED screen offers exceptional clarity, whether in its 6.4-inch collapsed form or in its expanded multitasking mode.

The Mate XT comes equipped with 16GB of RAM, and storage options range from 256GB to 1TB. The device is powered by Huawei’s proprietary Kylin chips and supported by an AI assistant, ensuring a seamless user experience. Additionally, it boasts a robust 5,600mAh battery, with fast-charging options of 66W wired and 50W wireless.
