Ahead of the October 9 local government election in Plateau State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called out the Middle Belt Political Forum for ridiculing itself by falsely announcing its endorsement of all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship and councillorship candidates for the election.
LEADERSHIP recalled that the forum at a news conference said the endorsement stems from Governor

Caleb Mutfwang’s commitment to grassroots development, inclusive governance and economic growth.
APC, in a statement issued in Jos by the acting publicity secretary Shittu Bamaiyi, pointed out that it is insulting and a disservice for any person or group to wake up and endorse any political party probably because the Forum was sponsored to do so.

He argued that as of today, Governor Caleb Mutfwang could not disclose any tangible projects undertaken by his administration, particularly during his one year in office anniversary speech.

“More worrisome and ridiculous, is the applause given to the PDP government for its so-called grassroots development, when available records show that there has been no time the local government areas have been so neglected like under the Mutfwang administration.”

According to him, this is predicated on the fact that despite the unprecedented billions of naira collected by the local government councils under the PDP led administration, none of them can show any project worth One hundred million initiated and executed by the illegal Transition Implementation Committees.

Bamaiyi further stressed “Consequently, since the Middle Belt Political Forum has chosen to be PDP’s mouthpiece, it would be most appropriate and intelligent to specifically mention the so-called grassroots development projects it is talking about”.

APC also noted that the forum’s inability to mention the so-called grassroots projects, clearly shows its bereft of facts and integrity to have sided with the lackluster PDP led administration.

According to the statement, if at all the PDP-led government has performed at the grassroots, as claimed by the forum, one wonders why President Tinubu in his 64th lndependence Anniversary speech gave kudos to some states, without mentioning Plateau.

The statement further said the Middle Belt Political Forum should know that the people are wiser and politically conscious to decipher between a productive and an inept political party that has failed them.

APC also noted that the people of the state have already made up their minds to consciously and conscientiously vote for the party of their choice in today’s local government election in the state.
