Sources indicated that the incident occurred on the night of Tuesday and revealed that security personnel were ambushed and killed by the hoodlums.

A witness described the rapidly deteriorating situation, stressing that it transformed the entire area into a battlefield.

“Some non-state actors attacked and killed security personnel in the area yesterday,” one source explained. “The whole place is engulfed in chaos, and troops have taken control of nearby communities.”

Residents, terrified for their safety, fled their homes as the sound of heavy gunfire echoed through the night. Many families left in a hurry, uncertain of when they might return.

“We are terrified,” said one resident, who requested anonymity. “The sound of gunfire still lingers in our ears. We don’t know what will happen next. We are worried; Ehime used to be a peaceful place, and now we don’t know what’s happening.”

As of press time, there had not been an official statement from the police.
