In a statement made available to journalists in Lagos, Masha said the implementation team is committed to ensuring ASSEP’s success and sustainability.

Harping on the forthcoming engagement session slated for Tuesday in Bauchi, she said it aims to assess the programme’s implementation since Vice President Kashim Shettima launched it on May 18, 2024.

“ASSEP goes beyond just schooling; it’s about total education, focusing on multiple aspects of an individual’s human capital.

“ASSEP is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to transform education outcomes in North East states, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed Hope Agenda.

“The programme focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Agriculture (STEMA), driving future development and human empowerment in Nigeria’s North East,” said Dr. Masha,

According to her, the engagement session brings together stakeholders in the education sector and relevant partners to discuss ASSEP’s progress and plans.

ASSEP’s components, including Virtual Reality for practical science experience, Teacher Training, Curriculum Development, Intensive Coaching, Quiz Competition, and Skill Development, have yielded impressive results for teachers and students.

After the engagement meeting, a teacher, Malam Sani Boto, described ASSEP as a “good initiative by the Federal Government” to revolutionise schools and students.

“The programme has significantly impacted teachers and students, enhancing productivity and understanding.

“The introduction of Virtual Reality has made complex concepts more accessible and engaging for our students.

“ASSEP has empowered us as teachers to deliver high-quality education, and we’re grateful for this opportunity.”

For his part, Mr Rabiu Shehu, President of the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Public Schools (ANCOPPS), also commended ASSEP’s positive results and advocated for its sustainability and extension to other schools.

“ASSEP has yielded impressive outcomes in terms of learning.
