It was learnt that the rain, which started on Friday evening, was accompanied by heavy windstorm which rendered many families homeless and washed away farmlands.

One of the residents, Alhaji Kaku Ibrahim, whose building was hit by the storm, disclosed that, the rain started at around 10:00pm on Friday and lasted to the early hours of the morning and destroyed a lot of property across the village, adding that houses destroyed by the rainstorm were more than 100.

Another resident, Audu Shariff, who regretted that 90 percent of over 100 houses, farmlands were affected by the disaster, appealed to the federal, state and local governments to provide more materials for the victims.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP, the village head Lawan Gimba Dumbari, urged the state government and other relevant bodies to come to the aid of flood victims across communities in Dumbari Village.
