Niger State Government is to construct a ring road in Kontagora to further decongest vehicular traffic in the town linking North West and South-West trunk A road network of the country.
The governor also promised to build an entrepreneurship centre for women in the Tudun Wada area of Kontagora to help them become self-reliant.
Governor Bago disclosed this while inspecting the road projects in the local government area as part of his statewide project monitoring tour.
He said a plan would be made for a new Kontagora city with basic social amenities and recreational centres, parks, and hotels along the ring road to add aesthetics to the town.
The governor further stated that trees would also be planted along the Ring Road in accordance with his administration’s Green Initiative.
He said the 7.8 km single-lane road constructed by the previous administration, which his administration is expanding, will have similar facilities to the Ring Road.
The projects inspected by the farmer governor were the expansion work on the 7.8 km single-lane road and the ongoing 21.2 km road construction.
He made some observations and reiterated his commitment to ensuring the speedy completion of state-owned and federal government road projects to provide succour to road users.
Meanwhile, the governor said the government would build an entrepreneurship centre for women in the Tudun Wada area in Kontagora to make them self-reliant while inspecting the ongoing construction of the Tudun Wada level 2 Primary Healthcare Centre in Kontagora.
He explained that the entrepreneurship centre, which would be by the level 2 Primary Healthcare Centre, would provide a platform for women around the area and those coming for medical attention to be engaged in various skills.
