Adamawa State Police Command, in collaboration with critical stakeholders and local security outfits has killed one kidnapper and arrested another robbery suspect in Ngurore Yola-North and Hong local government area of the state.
One AK-47 rifle with five live ammunition and knife used for the operation was recovered from the suspects.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris told newsmen that the command has reactivated its internal control mechanism to prevent kidnapping activities and promote decency in the state.
Morris said the Command took a bold step by coordinating a raid on one of the kidnappers’ hideout identified along Ngurore in Yola South local government area.
The suspects who were armed with offensive weapons, upon sighting the gallant men, attempted to resist arrest thereby “opening fire to scare our men but when the fire shots were returned one of them was down while others escaped.
He urge for more collaboration in order to chase out the criminals from the state and bring to book the fleeing suspects.
