The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced investigation into the cause of death of one of its officers found dead on a street in Lagos.

This was in reaction to a video of a man found dead and identified to be Sylvanus, a staff of the EFCC.

When LEADERSHIP contacted EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, on what must have been cause the death of Sylvanus, he said “his death is being investigated.”

According to the video obtained by LEADERSHIP, the cause of his death remained unknown as the man’s lifeless body was seen without any sign of scratch or hit from any vehicle.

The footage shows concerned residents gathering around Sylvanus’s lifeless body, examining his personal belongings in an effort to determine his identity and inform either his family or his place of work.

Sylvanus’s lifeless body, clad in traditional attire, was seen on the street of Lagos.

The onlookers said his ID card signified he was working with the anti-corruption agency before his demise.

Sylvanus’s death comes less than two weeks after SaharaReporters reported the death of another EFCC officer, Aminu Sahabi Salisu, after being shot by a suspected fraudster in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

The suspect in the incident was identified as Dr. Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu, an alleged internet fraudster.
