The Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna has graduated 119 first class students at its 33rd graduation and 42nd founders day coming up this weekend.
The vice chancellor of the university, Professor Farouk Adamu Kuta, disclosed this at yesterday’s Pre-Convocation Press Briefing at the university’s permanent site.
Kuta said a total of 5,816 students would graduate for the 2023/2024 Academic Session, including 4,955 undergraduates, 632 Master’s Graduates, 105 postgraduate Diplomas, and 124 PhD recipients.
He said among the undergraduates, 1431 graduated with second class upper division, 23 41 graduated with second class lower division, 972 graduated with third class and 92 graduated with pass degrees.
On innovations in the school, he said, “We have successfully implemented e-Learning platforms to enhance teaching delivery. A retreat for lecturers focused on integration of modern tools into pedagogy, ensuring our graduates are equipped to meet the challenges of a digital age”.
The vice chancellor said in line with the commitment to delivering cutting-edge education, the university has introduced 13 new academic programmes which aligned with contemporary societal needs and global competitiveness.
He said the programmes have been assessed and endorsed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) saying that the courses were Data Science, Software Engineering, Public Health, Forestry and Wildlife Technology, Forensic Science, Industrial Mathematics, Meteorology, Interior Design, Furniture Design, Landscape Architecture, Food Engineering, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Agribusiness.
