As the 2027 Lagos State gubernatorial election draws closer, a political group known as Lagos Agenda 2027 has issued a stern warning to Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, urging him to concentrate on his official duties rather than pursuing political ambitions.

The group, which supports Seyi Tinubu—son of President Bola Tinubu—emphasized that there is “no vacancy” in the Lagos State Government House and cautioned against any political maneuvering that could disrupt the state’s stability.

In a statement on Tuesday ,the group expressed dissatisfaction with Dr. Alausa’s performance, both in his previous role as Minister of Health and his current position as Minister of Education.

“We advise Dr. Alausa to refrain from actions that could disrupt the harmony of Lagos politics. His priority should be the educational challenges facing our state, rather than positioning himself for a gubernatorial bid that is not currently available,” the group stated.

However, Dr. Alausa has received support from another political faction, the League of Concerned Lagosians (LCL), which has officially endorsed him as its preferred candidate for the 2027 election.

The LCL, in a statement signed by its leader Oladipo Wahab and titled Alausa: Save Lagos Now, described the minister as the right candidate to continue what it called the “visionary legacy” of President Tinubu.

The statement says the contest will not only determine the state’s next governor but also influence the broader political direction of Nigeria’s commercial capital.
