The youths of Kwara south gathered en masse in Omu-Aran, Irepodun local government area of the state to chart a new course for their political future.
At the summit organised by the Kwara South Young Stakeholders with the theme: “Kwara 2027: The Kwara South Youths’ Perspective,” witnessed an overwhelming turnout.
The summit coordinator, Comrade Abiola Lawal, set the tone for the discussions with a stirring declaration that Kwara South must rise to the occasion and play a decisive role in the 2027 gubernatorial election.
He urged unity, strategic planning, and unwavering commitment to ensuring the emergence of a governor from the district.
The keynote address was delivered by Hon. Raphael Adetiba, a former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, while Comrade Ben Duntoye, a former national president of the Youth Council of Nigeria, provided strategic direction on youth inclusivity and the importance of building strong political alliances.

At the end of the summit, the youths reaffirmed their unwavering dedication to preserving the historical bond among the Ekiti, Ibolo, and Igbomina blocs, recognising unity as a vital pillar in their quest for the governorship seat.

They appealed to the state government to intensify security efforts across Kwara South to safeguard lives, property, and businesses in the region.

The youths also demanded a more equitable distribution of state resources, emphasising the urgent need for infrastructural and economic development in Kwara South.

While commending Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his developmental strides, the youths categorically rejected any form of automatic endorsement for any senatorial zone.
