The Northern Minority Alliance for Balanced Leadership (NOMIBAL), has said President Bola Tinubu is the best candidate for the 2027 general elections, noting that there is no vacancy for any presidential candidate.

The group, which stated this at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, noted that the president has done so much for the marginalised statement and Nigeria in general to warrant a second term.
According to the spokesperson of the NOMIBAL, Barr. Alhamdu Pane, while addressing the press,

“NOMIBAL firmly distances itself from any plans to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. The North has no moral right to seek power so soon after holding the presidency, especially when there is an unwritten pact that power should rotate between the North and South.

This principle has ensured national stability, and as President Tinubu is only in his first term, fairness dictates that he should be allowed to complete a second term if he so chooses and the electorate supports him.

“It is clear that under President Tinubu, we have seen a break from the marginalization of the past. His administration has taken decisive steps to include Northern minorities in governance and development, something we have long fought for.

“We firmly believe that Nigeria is on the right path under his leadership, and as we look ahead to 2027, we must consolidate these gains. Re-electing President Tinubu is not just a political decision; it is a necessity for the continued progress of our people.

We pledge to mobilize, organize, and work tirelessly to ensure his second term, because we believe that his administration is the best chance we have to cement the inclusion of Northern minorities in Nigeria’s governance.”

The group further appreciated the president on the approval for the construction of the Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe road, noting that, “we also express our appreciation to President Tinubu for his approval of the long-overdue dualization of the Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe road. boost connectivity, trade, and economic development in the North-Central and North-East regions. For decades, this road has been neglected, causing difficulties for travelers, traders, and businesses. The administration’s commitment to this project is a testament to its focus on equitable development, and we urge its timely completion.”

The group however, called for the inclusion of the Northern minorities in the board and management of the newly established North West Development Commission (NWDC), noting that “we believe that representation matters, and we trust that this oversight will be addressed in the spirit of fairness and justice.”
