The Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Education has urged the State Ministry of Education to expedite the establishment of the Bauchi State Science and Technical Education Board.

The chairman of the committee, Dr. Nasiru Ahmed Ala, made the appeal during a familiarisation visit to the newly appointed Commissioner for Education, Dr. Muhammed Lawal Rimin Zayam, in his office yesterday.

Dr. Ala emphasised that it is a tradition of the House to visit and congratulate newly appointed commissioners as a gesture of friendship and collaboration.
He further stressed the importance of fostering a strong working relationship between the committee and the ministry to enhance the education sector in the state.
Highlighting the State Assembly’s three core responsibilities—lawmaking, representation, and oversight—Dr. Ala reiterated that the visit aimed to establish mechanisms for progress in education.
He also commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his open-door policy and commitment to improving education in Bauchi State.

In response, Dr. Muhammed Lawal Rimin Zayam expressed his gratitude to the committee for their visit and assured them of his commitment to close collaboration in achieving the ministry’s goals.
He reaffirmed the ministry’s readiness to work with the State House of Assembly, particularly the Education Committee, to drive progress in the education sector.

Speaking during the meeting, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ali Babayo, acknowledged the committee’s continuous support for the ministry’s initiatives and emphasised the need to strengthen the existing partnership.
