Movement for Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND), has called on the governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Siminialaye Fubara and his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress (APC) to present their manifestos and blueprints for the development of coastal communities in the state.

MOSIEND, in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt yesterday, said the governorship candidates must unveil their blueprints early enough to the people of the state in the areas of youth and infrastructural development, security, health, education, and micro finance amongst others.

The statement, which was signed by the group’s national president, Kennedy Tonjo West, however, applauded the decision of the PDP and the APC to choose their governorship candidates from the riverine axis of the state.

The statement reads in part: “The news of their victories at the primaries was received with so much excitement, as it is what the riverine areas have been yearning for since the creation of Rivers State, and that it has given them, especially the people of Ijaw ethnic nationality, a sense of belonging.

“However, MOSIEND says the people of Rivers State want to see their manifestos and blueprint to develop the state, especially the riverine communities and the Atlantic areas.”

The group said even as much as it will throw its weight behind them because they are seasoned professionals in their various fields, the candidates must unveil their blueprints early enough to the people of the state in the areas of youth and infrastructural development, security, health, education, and micro finance amongst others.

MOSIEND advised them to relate well with other ethnic nationalities in the state and ensure that no one is left behind, so that whoever emerges governor can surpass their predecessors in performance.
