Bandits Place N50m Ransom On Bishop Kukah’s Brother

Bandits who abducted Ishaya Kukah, a brother of Bishop Hassan Kukah, the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, have demanded a ransom of N50 million for him to regain freedom.

Ishaya was kidnapped alongside six other persons, including women and children from Anchuna village, Ikulu Chiefdom of Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State last Wednesday.

A family member, Mr. Samuel Kukah who confirmed the N50 million ransom demand.

Samuel said, “The kidnappers have placed a demand of N50 million ransom, We have reported the matter to the local government authorities and security agencies and military commanders in our area.”

He solicited prayers for the safe return of their brother and others kidnapped, adding that residents of the community had continued to call for intensified security measures in the area. Police spokesman DSP Mansir Hassan could not be reached at the time of filing this report.
