I’ll Write Condolences Of Anyone Who Wants Me Dead – Wike

FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, has ridiculed false reports claiming that he collapsed and was flown to France for medical treatment, stating that the rumors were nothing but a political farce.

Wike made the remarks after inspecting the construction of access roads to the Justices’ Quarters, the N16 interchange road in Gishiri-Katampe District and the Abuja International Conference Centre.
He rejected what he described as malignant rumours about his health, asserting that “By God’s grace, I will be the one writing condolences for those spreading false news about my death.”

This statement comes six days after social media posts suggested that he had passed away, despite him actively fulfilling his official duties.

While describing the rumours as politically motivated, the minister said, “There was no time I collapsed; there was no time anybody took me overseas. But you see me every day.

“The day Mr President broke iftar on his birthday, I was there. The next day, I led Abuja residents to pay Sallah homage. I see all those stories just died down. This is politics.

“We know that we will die one day. Nobody will remain in this world forever, but it is only God that says the day you will die, not any human being.

“So, you have seen that I am even healthier than most of them who carried that rumour, and I will write their condolence letters. I can assure you that I will write their condolence letters.”

He assured the public of his continuing dedication to developing projects that would enhance the lives of Abuja residents.

Wike expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing projects’ progress, commending the contractors for their efforts and emphasising his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development.

In relation to funding, the minister attributed the successes achieved to prudent resource management while urging residents to support Abuja’s development by paying their taxes promptly for more community-oriented projects.
