A Labour Party aspirant in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council polls, Hon. Johnbosco Ezenwaka, has assured of community empowerment if he wins the election.
Ezenwaka, an Igbo community leader and chairman of the Non-Indigene Forum in Jahi District, stated this after he got his nomination form at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.
He is contesting for the Gwarinpa Ward councillorship seat in the forthcoming FCT area council elections.
In address, Ezenwaka pledged to continue his empowerment initiatives in Jahi and surrounding communities, promising inclusive and development-driven leadership if elected.
The FCT chairman of the Labour Party, Diugwu Peter Chukwuemeka, commended Ezenwaka for joining the race, describing it as bold and timely.
He noted the aspirant’s dedication, loyalty, and contributions to the party’s growth, noting that his payment of the N1 million form fee reflected strong commitment.
Chukwuemeka added that Ezenwaka’s integrity and grassroots connection makes him a formidable contender, stating that LP remains the only party with strong polling-unit-level structures in Gwarinpa.
Former House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Festus Agbazue, also endorsed Ezenwaka, emphasising his leadership qualities and record of community development.
As part of his consultation, Ezenwaka visited traditional rulers to seek blessings. The Village Head of Jahi 1, Alhaji Adamu Dodo, assured him of the elders’ support, while the Chief of Kado, represented by Ali Ada, commended his humility and grassroots engagement, describing his visit as a serious step in his political journey.
