Women Scientists Honour CEOAfrica Boss For Supporting Research

Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Ibadan Branch, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, honoured the Managing Director and CEO of CEOAfrica, Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, in recognition of his outstanding support for research and community engagement initiatives championed by the organisation.

Prince Ilobanafor was conferred with the title of „Friend of OWSD“ during a special ceremony at the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), Oyo Road, Ibadan.

OWSD Ibadan is a voluntary network of women scientists drawn from institutions such as the University of Ibadan, The Polytechnic Ibadan, NIHORT, FRIN, IAR&T, CRIN, IITA, NISER, and FCHAPT.

The organisation is affiliated with UNESCO and is dedicated to promoting the participation of women researchers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as well as in social sciences and allied disciplines.

According to OWSD Ibadan, Prince Ilobanafor has demonstrated a sustained commitment to promoting research and uplifting female scientists in the country. The organisation described his contributions as „unforgettable,“ adding that he has served as an inspiration to researchers at all levels and a role model to both female and male students in higher institutions.

OWSD Ibadan said the event underscored its continued efforts to foster an inclusive and collaborative environment for researchers and to celebrate allies who support the empowerment of women in science.
