The signing of MoU which took place on the first day of Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit (KadInvest), was done by Malam Muhammad Hafiz Bayero, the Administrator of Kaduna Capital Territory Authority and the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (KADCCIMA).

The PwC Global Entertainment and Media Outlook for 2020-2024, noted that “Nigeria’s media and entertainment industry is one of the fastest-growing creative industries in the world.

“It has the potential to become the country’s greatest export, with a projected annual growth rate of 8.6% and a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19.3% from 2018-2023,’’ it added.

The Kaduna Film Village, upon completion, will provide job opportunities to performing artistes, actors, cinematographers, writers, directors, make-up artists, cinematographers, audio-visual editors and others.

Speaking on the proposed Film Village, Malam Hafiz Bayero, said the partnership is not going to build new structures, but leverage the old Trade Fair Complex structures, which are currently under-utilized.

“We are looking to have a space in the trade fair complex, where people can come, film movies and do their pre and post production and also move the movie to the International film market.
“What we need to do in Kaduna is to have a steady supply of technical hands in all aspects of film production, we will be setting up a Film Academy that trains people involved in modern day film making and Kaduna has the best landscape,” he said.
