Members of the Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC), in Italy have called on members in the Edo State chapter to close ranks and commit to strengthening the party’s spirit and ideals.
The call came as the party prepares to receive, on July 12, 2025, the APC national chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje; the Edo State chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, and the acting vice chairman, Sylvester Aigboboh who will join the delegation.
The meeting convener and the acting chairman of APC in Italy, Mike Oputteh, in a communique emailed to newsmen also lauded the developmental strides of Governor Monday Okpeholo in restoring the state on the path of growth and development.
He said the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is already taking root in Edo.
Oputteh said the purpose of the meeting is to also remind members of the Edo State Diaspora APC on the need to play a frontal role and support in building the party in Italy and Edo State.
He urged members and those in attendance to maintain unity and solidarity putting aside individual differences for the greater good of the party and nation.
He said, “The last time, the France, UK were inaugurated, now it is Italy in July. Our aim is for us to come out as the best in Diaspora because we in the majority. The recognition show that we all laboured for the victory of the APC. Edo state chairman when he visited urged us to he United so that we can benefit the dividends of our struggle.
“We understand that our collective strength is rooted in our ability to work together towards a common goal. We must engage collectively in promoting our party agenda, supporting it initiatives, and contributing to it growth and development in Edo state and Nigeria.”
Other notable members in attendance included Bishop Desmond Osazuwa, Hon Francis Imafidon, Ojo Osaro and Malam Osakwe Iredia (JP) who expressed commitment to work towards fostering unity and harmony in the party in Italy.
