The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has expressed commitment to the speedy completion of the Gbaregolor-Ogulaha road project in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State.
The managing director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, stated this yesterday while speaking to newsmen after conducting an assessment tour of the 24-kilometre road.
Ogbuku was accompanied by the chairman of the NDDC Governing Board, Mr. Chiedu Ebie; the executive director, projects, Mr. Victor Antai and some members of the House of Representatives Committee on the NDDC.
He stated that with a bridge spanning 576m, the project was massive, stating that billions of naira had already been expended on it.
Ogbuku said the road would contribute to poverty reduction through positive contributions to the economic growth of the host communities and their neighbours.
He said the project would also improve the security situation and enhance rapid development, noting that when completed, it would connect 10 communities in Bomadi, Ughelli South and Burutu local government areas of Delta State.
