The Nigeria First Movement has announced major leadership appointments aimed at strengthening its mission to “make Nigeria safe and great again,” with Dr. Dahiru Muhammed emerging as its new chairman.

In a statement issued on Friday night and made available to LEADERSHIP, the National Executive Council (NEC) said the appointments took effect from July 31, 2025, marking a new chapter for the movement.

Dr. Muhammed’s appointment was hailed as a recognition of his exceptional leadership, administrative expertise, and philanthropic endeavors, qualities the NEC said aligned closely with the movement’s vision.

The statement also announced the appointment of Alhaji (Dr.) Bello Maigari, , as Deputy Director General (North) and Dr. Hon Joyce Gagaoghene as Director of Diaspora for the movement.

“These appointments are not just titles; they represent a call to service,” the NEC said, “They reflect our confidence in their ability to inspire positive change and shape the future of Nigeria.”

Each appointee has been tasked with driving outreach, mobilisation, and policy advocacy within their respective roles, with Maigari focusing on northern Nigeria and Gagaoghene spearheading diaspora engagement.

The NEC further disclosed that by virtue of these roles, the appointees automatically assume the honorary title of Citizen Ambassador of the movement, a designation intended to symbolise their public-facing mission.

Welcoming the new leaders, the organisation urged them to uphold the principles outlined in its bylaws and to “channel their progressive mindsets toward the cause of a safer, stronger, and greater Nigeria.”

The Nigeria First Movement is a socio-political organisation advocating for unity, security, and national development. With this shake-up at the top, observers say the group is positioning itself for broader influence in the country’s evolving civic landscape.
