The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Katsina State chapter has condemned the killing of over 50 worshippers during dawn prayers at a mosque in Unguwan Mantau of Malumfashi local government area, describing the attack as a “heinous assault on humanity.”

In a statement issued by its leader, Dr. Mustapha Mohammed Inuwa, the party expressed grief over the massacre and called for urgent government action to protect communities from recurring violence.

Dr. Inuwa also accused the authorities of negligence, noting that security forces arrived only after the attackers had fled.

He stressed that “condemnations without concrete action have become a painful norm” in Katsina State and across the North-West.

Katsina ADC thereby demanded deployment of additional security personnel to vulnerable areas as well as transparency in the use of security funds.

The party further advocated federal intervention against banditry, and immediate relief for survivors and families of victims.

Inuwa also called on the people of Katsina to remain united while holding leaders accountable for the state of insecurity.

Praying for the repose of the victims’ souls, Inuwa called on both state and federal governments to match words with decisive action.

“The time has come to prioritise security and justice over empty promises,” ADC said.
