Dignitaries at the weekend eulogised the late assistant comptroller-general of Immigration, ACG Joseph Olutayo Dada, as his remains were interred in his residence on Ijebu-Jesa Road, Ilesa, Osun State, after a burial service.

Dada, 58, a sibling of Osun State Correspondent of LEADERSHIP Joshua Dada, died on 10th August, 2025 at the University College Hospital (UCH) after a brief illness, shortly after his elevation to the rank of assistant comptroller-general of Immigration.

Leading encomiums at the burial service held at Foursquare Gospel Church, Ijebu-Jesa Road, Iludun Area, Ilesa, the comptroller- general of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nana-Nandap, described the deceased as a source of pride to the Service in particular and Nigeria in general.

The NIS boss, represented at the event by the ACG, Mohammed Adamu, noted that the late Dada was a gallant officer and a man of principle, humility and deep commitment to the ideals of nation-building.
Her words: “His professional journey was marked by diligence, discipline, and high dedication that earned him the respect of his colleagues and subordinates. He gave his best to the service.
“Today, we gathered to celebrate the life of a man whose impact and leadership will forever be felt in the Nigerian Immigration Service.

Addressing the congregation during the burial service attended by the top shots of NIS, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, represented by his Special Adviser on Security, Barrister Samuel Ojo, called on the family to remain strong in their moment of grief and put their trust in God.

His words: “The news of the death of ACG Joseph Olutayo Dada came to us as a painful shock. He served his country with diligence, honour and an unwavering sense of duty. He represented the values of hard work, integrity, and patriotism, which Osun State is known for. His passing is a loss to his immediate family, our State, and the entire Nigeria Immigration Service.

Responding on behalf of the family, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Dada Adewoye thanked the entire congregation and specifically appreciated the roles played by the Nigerian Immigration Service under the leadership of CG Kemi Nana Nandap since Dada’s passing.

She passionately pleaded for prompt attention to the late officer’s entitlements. She presented the names of a few family members dear to the deceased officer’s heart to the Comptroller General for consideration for employment.
