According to the 2025 ranking conducted by Pole Global Marketing (PGM) evaluation, the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro (fpi), has emerged as the overall best national institution among the 180 tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The polytechnic emerged as the best among Nigeria’s tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics and Colleges of Education.
The Polytechnic Rector, Dr Mukail Akinde, made this known on Monday while speaking at a media interaction held at the institution’s campus in Ilaro, headquarters of Yewa South Local Government Area, Ogun State.
Akinde explained that PGM, an IT Consulting organisation and international evaluation body, based on blackboard implementation and adoption in Africa, finally settled for Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro as the “numero uno” among others, following the institution’s performance indicators in the areas of academic excellence, innovation, institutional management and community impact.
The ranking, carried out in a comprehensive evaluation that covered over 180 higher institutions of learning, assessed institutions on key performance indicators such as academic excellence, innovation, institutional management, and community impact.
Speaking further, the Rector attributed the institution’s new feat to the collective dedication and commitment of the management team, staff, and students of the Polytechnic, who, he said, were collectively involved in all efforts that would make FPI excel in all its endeavours.
With particular commendations for the FPI’s Centre for Information and Communication Technology (CICT), Akinde emphasised that the new feat in the PGM’s ranking would call for greater commitment, excellence in service delivery, and sustained innovation in all areas of institutional growth.
While speaking on behalf of the Governing Council and the entire Polytechnic community, Akinde said, “This news was a timely and uplifting recognition,” especially as the present administration marks its third year in office.
“It is not just a celebration, but a call to greater commitment, excellence in service delivery and sustained innovation in all areas of institutional growth. Thank the management team, staff, and students for tireless efforts”.
