PHML Partners National Orthopaedic Hospital To Deliver Quality Service

The Police Health Maintenance Limited(PHML), is seeking to partner with the National Orthopedic Hospital, Jalingo in providing quality healthcare delivery to families of serving police officers.

The medical director of the Orthopedic Hospital in Jalingo, Prof. Chubado Tahir, mentioned this when he hosted Dr. Gazali Yusuf, managing director of PHML, in Jalingo on Wednesday.

In furtherance to the commitment, the two institutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at addressing urgent medical needs of serving police officers and their immediate family members.

He said, the partnership marks a significant milestone, paving the way for a fruitful collaboration that will drive healthcare excellence in Taraba State and Nigeria at large.

Tahir told his guest that, the development was a testament to the commitment of both parties to deliver exceptional healthcare services to the people of Taraba State and beyond.

He appreciated the police health maintenance for selecting Jalingo Orthopedic Hospital as one of its partner-healthcare providers.

Prof. Tahir assured the PHML team of the hospital’s readiness and capacity to ensuring the best service was rendered.

He highlighted the successes recorded since inception in March, 2025 to include an average of 20 major surgeries monthly, a 100% bed occupancy capacity in most cases, a well-equipped Physiotherapy unit, Accident and Emergency services and over 2,000 cases attended to in the General Outpatient Department (GOPD) monthly.

The MD, who explained the significant impact of such specialised hospital said, the scheme was basically designed to capture police officers and their families.

In response, Dr. Gazali Yusuf, managing director of PHML, expressed his gratitude to Prof. Tahir and the management of the hospital for the leadership and mentorship.

While extending warm regards from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, he said a Liaison officer would be appointed by the HMO to support the programme, and to ensure smooth operations.

The MoU is expected to improve trauma, accident, and bullet wound care, and to ultimately enhancing the health and well-being of the people.
