Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has reflected on his suspension from football following a two-month ban for his alleged involvement in a betting scandal.

The Nigerian international returned to action for Udinese against Cremonese two weeks ago and made his third appearance of the season during the 3-1 defeat to Juventus on Wednesday night.

Okoye admitted that being away from football was challenging. “I’ve been out for a while, and it’s always difficult to be without football, but the goalkeeping coaches and my teammates have always supported me,” Okoye told the club’s official website.

“I feel good, I’m happy, and I want to grow and learn every day.”
