Nigeria has already established itself as a formidable competitor at the Games, having secured a total of 14 medals, including six gold, five silver, and three bronze, primarily in weightlifting and boxing.

With 43 gold medals up for grabs in Track and Field, Nigeria’s dynamic mix of emerging talents and experienced athletes is poised to leave a significant impact on the competition.

Furthermore, Nigeria’s medal tally is expected to increase as the country’s Para athletes prepare for events in both Powerlifting and Para-Athletics. The Para-Powerlifting team, fresh off a runner-up finish at the World Championship in Egypt, will kick off their campaign on Friday, while the Para-athletes begin competing on Tuesday.
