All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders, including the governorship aspirants in Kwara North, have agreed to work in unison to make the ambition of the zone to produce the next governor of the state realisable.

The stakeholders and the aspirants reached the agreement at a meeting held in Ilorin residence of a prominent Kwara North leader, Senator Mohammed Ahmed.

LEADERSHIP reports that Kwara north has not produced a state governor since 1999.

A communique issued at the end of the meeting indicated that the meeting was well attended by APC stakeholders across the five local government areas that make up Kwara North Senatorial District.

The stakeholders appreciated the convener of the meeting, which was the third of its kind and requested him to reach out to other groups involved in the same mission, for effective coordination and actualisation of the main objective.

The meeting according to the communique signed by Senator Mohammed Ahmed acknowledged the efforts of monarchs, members of Kwara North Youths Forum and the Kwara North Elders Council with respect to the demand for the gubernatorial seat to be conceded to the zone in 2027.

The stakeholders advised all aspirants from the district to carry out their pre campaign activities with a sense of unity of purpose and should be devoid of rancour and character assassination.

The communique said all the aspirants pledged to work together towards the actualisation of the district’s goal of producing the next governor of the state.

” The meeting agreed to set up an inclusive committee that would consolidate the activities of the various groups involved in the aspiration for the

gubernatorial slot, towards the achievement of the objectives with ease.

” The meeting acknowledged and appreciated the efforts by both the Kwara State and Federal Governments, in solving the problems of the recent armed bandits attacks and kidnapping of people, which took place in some parts of the Kwara

north and south senatorial districts of the State,” the communique added.
