Minor Burnt By Mistress To Undergo Corrective Surgery

Five year- old Onyinyechi, whose mistress used candlelight to burn her private parts, will undergo two major corrective surgery.

A statement issued in Owerri, the Imo State capital yesterday, an activist, Chidiebube Okeoma, whose  Stand for Humanity Foundation, rescued the child in Uruala community in the Ideato North local government area and arrested the guardian, Juliet Igwe, said the injuries sustained by the minor were severe.

Okeoma said the consultant plastic surgeon handling the minor’s case said the medical investigations showed that the wounds were third degree injury.

The activist  disclosed that the consultant plastic surgeon had recommended two corrective surgeries for the minor.

Okeoma, further explained that the expert’s opinion disclosed that the minor would under debroilment and skin grafting surgical operations in her hands peeled off with boiled water by her guardian.

The statement reads in part, ” The consultant plastic surgeon handling this minor’s case has recommended two surgical operations, describing the burns as third degree injury. To correct the damage, the minor will undergo first debroilment surgery and lastly skin grafting in her hands peeled off by her wicked guardian.

“All her medical bills in this regards have been picked by the Imo state government through Imo State Health insurance agency. I thank the Executive Secretary of Imo State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Uche Ewelike, who obliged my request when I contacted him.

“Our commitment to this girl’s wellness and justice for her are uncompromised. By next week, the suspect will have her day in court. She will answer for this crime she has committed against this Innocent soul.”

“While the medical bills have been picked, we call on spirited individuals to assist us in the girl’s feeding, toiletries and other welfare needs,” he added.
