Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club has expressed concern over the delayed ruling from the Appeal Committee regarding a case of match disruption involving the club and Gombe United.
The club’s spokesperson, Comrade Ibrahim Isyaku, stated this while addressing journalists about the newly scheduled match between the two sides. Comrade Isyaku explained that during their initial match on March 7, 2025, in Gombe State capital, there was an incident of match disruption. The club reported this to the Nigerian Football Federation’s complaints committee.
According to him, the committee fined Gombe United N2.5 million and ordered the remainder of the match to be completed at a neutral venue.
“Following that ruling, Gombe United appealed the decision to the NFF’s appeal committee”.
“However, as we prepare for the return match, the committee’s final decision has yet to be delivered,” he said.
“We are calling on the NFF and the match organizers to postpone our return match until the final decision is given,” Isyaku stated.
Comrade Isyaku reiterated the commitment of the Golden Stars management and players to secure the club’s promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League at the earliest opportunity.
