Former Chelsea F.C. defender Frank Leboeuf believes Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has outgrown the Turkish Super Lig following his impressive display for Galatasaray S.K. against Liverpool F.C..
Osimhen played a decisive role in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over the Premier League side in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, providing the assist for Mario Lemina’s winning goal.
Speaking on ESPN’s Morning Football, Leboeuf suggested the Nigerian international deserves to compete in one of Europe’s top leagues.
“With all due respect to the Turkish league, I think he deserves to play in the best league in the world,” Leboeuf said.
“I would love to see Osimhen in the Premier League or La Liga.”
The French World Cup winner’s comments are likely to fuel speculation about the striker’s future, with several leading European clubs already monitoring his performances.
