The US State Department has announced a $10 million reward for information leading to the identification, location, or capture of Mojtaba Khamenei, described as Iran’s new supreme leader, along with several senior Iranian officials.

The announcement was made on Friday under the department’s Rewards for Justice programme, which offers financial incentives for intelligence that can aid in the capture or prosecution of individuals linked to terrorism.

Among those listed are Eskandar Momeni and Esmail Khatib, alongside eight other officials.

According to the State Department, the individuals are accused of commanding and directing various units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which it alleges is responsible for planning and carrying out terrorist activities globally.

“These individuals command and direct various elements of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which plans, organises and executes terrorism around the world,” the department said in a statement.

It urged anyone with relevant information to submit tips through secure channels such as Tor or Signal, adding that informants could qualify for both relocation assistance and financial compensation.

The reward offer follows reports that Mojtaba’s father, Ali Khamenei, was killed in a bombing on February 28 at the onset of a reported US-Israeli conflict with Iran.

The Rewards for Justice programme has historically provided monetary incentives for intelligence leading to the disruption of terrorist networks and the arrest of high-profile suspects worldwide.
