The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Ernst & Young (EY) as its new independent auditor, bringing to an end a nine-year tenure held by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

The decision was announced in a communiqué issued on Monday following the Federation’s Annual General Assembly held in Yenagoa.

According to the communiqué, EY will serve an initial term of four years, in line with Federal Government regulations and the provisions of the NFF Statutes.

The appointment followed what the Federation described as a rigorous selection process involving seven audit firms, all of which presented proposals to a designated evaluation committee. The recommendation of the Executive Committee was subsequently put to a vote and received unanimous approval from Congress.

“The Congress unanimously approved the appointment of Messrs Ernst & Young (EY) as the new Independent Auditor of the Nigeria Football Federation,” the communiqué stated.

The Federation also expressed appreciation to PwC for its “nine years of meritorious service” in overseeing its audit functions.

Founded in 1989, EY is a leading multinational audit and consulting firm and a member of the global “Big Four” network, with headquarters in the United Kingdom. The firm maintains offices in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt, among other locations in Nigeria.
