A 33-year-old suya seller, Abubakar Isiaka, has appealed to security agencies and other relevant authorities to assist him rescue his abducted little daughter, Sheripha.
The over 3-year-old was allegedly abducted from their compound in Hausa Quarters, Ogwashi Uku, Delta State on March 7, 2026. She was reportedly lured away by a woman who came to the compound during a burial ceremony in broad daylight.
Narrating his ordeal at the weekend, Abubakar said the woman dressed in hijab, like a female Muslim, knocked at his door and speaking Hausa language, asked his wife of the residence of a well-known woman within the Hausa Quarters.
“My unsuspecting wife obliged and asked my older daughter to show the woman the house. The younger sister, Sheripha followed her to the house of the woman close to ours.
“On the way, the woman brought out N200 and gave it to the elder sister for her to buy biscuits. When the elder sister came back with biscuits, the woman left with the younger girl.
“It was in the process that we raised alarm. We quickly reported to the Sariki, police, vigilante group and everyone in the quarters. Those who came for the burial mobilised for a search but all efforts to find her proved abortive.
“We have not been sleeping well because of this. Let the police and government help us so that our child can return,” he pleaded.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, said the command is on the trail of the abductor and her syndicate.
He advised parents and other members of the public to be extra vigilant over their children and environment so as not to fall victims in the hands of evil doers.
