The APC National Vanguard has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support the re-election of Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group made the appeal in a statement issued on Thursday by its National President, Dr. Gbenga Salam, citing what it described as “impressive and verifiable developmental strides” recorded by the Fubara administration.

According to the group, its position followed an independent assessment tour of ongoing and completed projects across the state.

It noted that the appeal was based on performance rather than political considerations, stressing that governance outcomes should take precedence over partisanship.

“We respectfully urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC to support the continuity of Governor Siminalayi Fubara beyond his current tenure, in recognition of his commitment to development, prudent resource management, and people-focused governance,” the statement read.

The group said its delegation inspected several projects, including road construction, urban renewal initiatives, and public infrastructure, noting that development efforts were being extended beyond major urban centres.

“Our findings reveal a government that is deliberate and consistent in its development agenda. The spread of projects across various communities reflects a clear understanding of the needs of the people,” Salam said.

The APC National Vanguard also commended the administration’s financial management, stating that available evidence suggests careful planning and efficient utilisation of resources.

It added that despite political tensions in the state, the governor has remained focused on governance, ensuring continuity in project execution and service delivery.

The group warned that disrupting the current administration could stall ongoing projects and reverse gains already recorded.

“Rivers State is at a critical stage where continuity is essential to consolidate ongoing initiatives. Supporting Governor Fubara for a second term is in the best interest of the people,” it stated.

The group further reaffirmed its support for President Tinubu, expressing confidence in his administration’s reform agenda and urging Nigerians to remain supportive of efforts to stabilise the economy.

It called on political actors to prioritise development and public interest over partisan interests, insisting that leadership should be judged based on performance and accountability.
