The Kano State Police Command has confirmed that the relatives of 16-year-old Alex Ansol, who was earlier found wandering in Dadin Kowa village in Doguwa local government area of the State, have been identified and reunited.

The teenager was initially found wandering after he allegedly lost contact with his relatives while travelling from Abuja to Kano on return to the country from Spain. He had told the police that he arrived in Nigeria from Spain on March 30, 2026, through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and became separated from his family along the Jos–Saminaka road while on transit to Kano.

However, in an update issued shortly after the initial press release by the Kano State Police Command, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed that the situation had been resolved.

“Relatives of found teenager identified. Thank you for your support,” Kiyawa stated.

The police had earlier appealed to the public for information to help trace the boy’s family, describing him as thin, dark-complexioned, and able to speak English.

The Command expressed appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation.
