Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, born Emeka Akumefule, has alleged that the long-standing feud between Wizkid and Davido fans is a major factor in the relevance of both afrobeats kings in the music industry.
In a chat with YouTuber Korty EO, Blaqbonez pointed out that competition between fanbases helps maintain focus and attention on high-profile musicians years after the height of their fame.
In his opinion, the two Afrobeat pop stars would find it difficult to maintain the same level of control but for the ongoing Internet controversy surrounding them.
“Wizkid and Davido can never fade. That hatred is the reason why they will be relevant forever. When they love each other, it is over.”
The ‘Like Ice Spice’ singer went on to argue that contention between fan bases keeps artistes popular and guarantees continuous involvement in the music industry, adding that he welcomes competition and succeeds in an environment that encourages it.
The rapper pointed out that love is for children and that Artistes can love each other, but their fans should never love each other.
