The Zamfara State Government has debunked rumours making the rounds over salary delay stressing that the delay is not connected to any political developments and has nothing to do with the defection of Governor Dauda Lawal to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A statement signed yesterday by Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa Commissioner for Information and Culture Zamfara State said “the government wishes to state clearly that the delay is not peculiar to Zamfara State, but rather part of a broader nationwide challenge linked to ongoing financial and banking processes at the central level. Efforts are currently being made to resolve these issues, and the state government remains actively engaged with relevant authorities to ensure a swift resolution.”
“The government categorically refutes any claims or rumours suggesting that the salary delay is connected to any political developments, including speculations about the defection of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Such claims are unfounded and should be disregarded.
“The Zamfara State Government appeals to all citizens, particularly civil servants, to remain calm and patient, as concrete steps are being taken to address the situation. The welfare of workers remains a top priority, and every effort is being made to ensure that all outstanding salaries are paid as soon as possible.
“The government also urges the public to avoid spreading unverified information and to rely only on official communication channels for accurate updates,” it maintained.
