A forthcoming biography about Kim Kardashian is set to offer readers an in-depth look into the life and influence of one of pop culture’s most talked-about figures.
Titled Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, the book is written by journalist Jonathan Van Meter and will be released on October 27 by Viking Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
According to the official synopsis, the biography traces Kardashian’s evolution from being known as Paris Hilton’s close friend to becoming a business mogul, fashion icon, and criminal justice advocate in her own right.
The synopsis describes Kardashian as “a self-made mogul, social media genius, fashion icon and unlikely advocate for criminal justice reform,” while noting that public perception of her remains far more layered than many assume.
Drawing from interviews with Kardashian, her relatives, friends and associates, the book promises an intimate portrait of the reality star’s personal and professional journey.
Speaking about the project to PEOPLE, Van Meter said, “I realised I’d never met a public figure about whom perception and reality were so at odds.”
He added, “Kim is in fact one of the most competent, resourceful and intuitive people I’ve ever met.” Citizen Kim comes out on October 26 and is presently available for preorder.
