2027 Elections: APC Clears Governor Buni For Senate

The All Progressives Congress, has declared the Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni qualified to contest the Yobe East Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

A statement issued by the director general Press Affairs and Media to the Governor, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed said the National Chairman of the party, and Chairman Screening committee, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, pronounced Gov. Buni’s qualification when he appeared before the committee on Saturday.

Prof. Nentawe, said “Your Excellency, you have been screened multiple times, and screened others severally.

“You have served the party in various capacities with glory, you are indeed most qualified for any position, l hereby declare you qualified to contest the senatorial position in Yobe state,” the Chairman declared.

Earlier, the Deputy National Vice Chairman South-South, Victor Giadom, said he had the opportunity of serving the party under Governor Buni, as the national chairman of the party and his exemplary leadership qualities remained unique.

“Gov. Buni is the type of leader that we should all emulate, he is the type of leader Nigeria needs,” Giadom said.

Similarly, the legal adviser Murtala Aliyu Kanka, described Governor Buni as a complete gentleman with the interest of his people.

Responding, Gov. Buni commended the National Working Committee and the Screening committee of the party for the honour done to him.

“I urge the NWC to remain resolute and continue working as a team to ensure the success of the party in the 2027 general elections.

“I congratulate and commend you, l urge you to keep it up in the interest of our party and democracy,” Gov. Buni said.
