Gov Lawal Appoints New Advisers, Heads Of Key Institutions, Names Board For Specialist Hospital

Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of two Special Advisers, a Senior Special Assistant and two heads of some key government institutions. The Governor has also approved the constitution of the Governing Board for Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau.

Disclosing the approvals, the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada stated that the appointments are aimed at strengthening government operations, policy coordination and enhancing service delivery to the people of the state.

Those appointed include Hon Naziru Ibrahim as Special Adviser on Strategy and Governance, and Nura Sani Abdullahi who was upgraded from Senior Special Assistant to Special Adviser on Political Matters.

Similarly, Zainab Muhammad Hassan is appointed as the new Executive Secretary, Zamfara Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (ZAMCHEMA), while Dr Badamasi Sarkin Kaya Maradun is named as the new Provost, College of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe.

Governor Lawal has also appointed Hon Namadi Isah Kasuwar Daji as Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters.

Additionally, the Governor has reconstituted the Governing Board for Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau. The move is to facilitate effective administration and smooth operations of the facility pursuant to Section 6(1) of the law establishing the Hospital.

The Board will be chaired by the former Vice Chancellor of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis.

Other members of the Board include the Chief Medical Director of the facility; the Head of Clinical Service & Training; and one representative each from the Federal Medical Centre, the Ministry of Health, the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA).

The rest are Dr Sa’ad Idris Dan Isa; Suwaiba Ibrahim (representative of women’s interest in the society); Alhaji Mujtaba Isah, mni (distinguished retired Public Servant); and two representatives of Private Medical Practitioners. The Director of Administration of the Hospital will serve as Secretary of the Board.

While congratulating the appointees, Governor Lawal urged them to discharge their duties with dedication and integrity to drive meaningful change in their various areas of responsibility.
