The race for President Federation Cup glory reaches a crucial stage on Wednesday as former champions El-Kanemi Warriors and Wikki Tourists lock horns in a high-stakes semi-final showdown at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

The Maiduguri-based club defeated Kano Pillars 3-2 to claim their maiden title before edging Stationery Stores 1-0 a year later. They also lifted the trophy two years ago, beating Abia Warriors in the Lagos final.Wikki Tourists, meanwhile, are chasing a second Federation Cup crown.

Their lone triumph came in 1998 when they defeated Plateau United on penalties after a goalless draw in Kaduna.

Both teams have impressed on their journey to the last four. Wikki Tourists eliminated Jigawa Golden Stars Jnr, former champions Bayelsa United, Kada Warriors and Flight FC, while El-Kanemi Warriors saw off Krusaders FC, Akwa United, Bendel Insurance and Sokoto United.
